Training and Experience

Dr Susan Heselton qualified from Edinburgh University in 1990. In 1991, she joined the Royal Army Dental Corps as a Dental Officer. From 1998 to 1999, she studied for and was awarded the Degree of Master of Science in Periodontology at the Eastman Dental Institute. Since 1999, she has been a Regional Periodontal Adviser providing periodontal treatment for gum problems for referred patients, auditing dental hygienists and lecturing on the management of periodontal disease.

In 2000 Susan gained the Diploma of Member of the Faculty of Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, and Membership in General Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow in 2002.

In 2008, she left the Army to work in private practice and pursue a special interest in periodontics. She is currently studying for the FGDP (UK) Diploma in Implant Dentistry. Susan is a member of the British Society of Periodontology and now provides periodontal treatment for referred patients at Solent House Dental Centre..
